250K business contest extends application deadline
The Blue Ocean Enterprises Challenge, a business pitch contest, will extend its application deadline to midnight Dec. 31.
The contest pits startup firms and entrepreneurs nationwide against one another for a grand prize of $250,000, strategy and operations support, and a one-year business mentoring program. Fort Collins’ Blue Ocean Enterprises and Colorado State University sponsor the event.
The contest deadline was originally Dec. 15. Collegiate entrepreneurs, startups seeking capital, and existing businesses seeking expansion capital are invited to apply to compete by visiting www.BlueOceanChallenge.com.
A panel of judges from CSU’s College of Business, Blue Ocean Enterprises and the national business community will select as many as 40 finalists from the competition’s Collegiate and Enterprise Tracks. Finalists will participate in a three-month business coaching and pitch consultation program before the May 24 contest in Fort Collins.
“We’re excited by the quality of applications for the Blue Ocean Enterprises Challenge and urge other young companies to apply to pitch their ideas to our judges,” said Charisse Bowen, director of the Institute for Entrepreneurship at Colorado State University. “There’s a huge opportunity for the right idea and an emerging company leader to win investment capital and mentorship.”
